A wellness vacation is possible almost anywhere in Germany. To make your stay perfect, you need a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location-ideally with a panoramic view. Walking with such a view will definitely enhance your relaxation.

Therefore, we present beautiful places with wellness hotels for a wellness weekend. The travel destinations range from the North Sea, through the Sauerland, to the Alps.

1. Wellness Getaway in Bad Langensalza, Thuringia

A wellness vacation near the third-largest old town in the region? That's possible in Bad Langensalza, Unstrut-Hainich District in Thuringia. Several gardens and parks in the area invite you to take relaxing walks-including a rose garden and a Japanese garden. The Friederikenschlösschen is also worth seeing.

The Friederikentherme provides wellness fun. You can relax in up to 34-degree warm saline water, with a total of four pools filled (salt content between 3 and 5 percent). The seven saunas will surely make you sweat, including a rose sauna, steam baths, a Finnish sauna, and an earth sauna. Special infusions are regularly held. Cosmetic and other wellness treatments are also bookable.

For sleeping and relaxing, head to Sante Royale Hotel & Health Resort, which you can reach via a bathrobe walkway from the Friederikentherme. The four-star hotel opened in 2017 and features 130 rooms.

2. Wellness in Spessart Nature Park at Therme Bad Orb

The spa town of Bad Orb is surrounded by the forested mountains of the Spessart Nature Park. Active vacationers can hike or bike along idyllic paths and through dense forests. The Bad Orb Kurpark, designed in the style of an English landscape garden more than 100 years ago, also invites you to a relaxing stroll. At the edge of the Kurpark, you can walk along Germany's longest barefoot path, which stretches for 4.5 kilometers, encouraging balancing, strolling, sneaking, and running.

Relax in one of the 112 rooms and suites at the Hotels an der Therme Bad Orb. Guests have direct access to the Toskana-Therme. You can swim in 35-degree warm saline or one of the other six thermal pools or sweat in one of the seven saunas. Spa treatments are also bookable.

3. Relaxed Wellness in Bad Wurzach in Baden-Württemberg

With the Allgäu Alps at your doorstep and a soothing wellness experience indoors, the Feelmoor Hotel & Resort offers both. The thermal water in the small spa town of Bad Wurzach has been bubbling to the surface at 34 degrees Celsius for 12,000 years and is said to strengthen muscles and joints, the immune system, and the autonomic nervous system with minerals like fluoride and sodium.

Altogether, there are four pools for guests to swim in and enjoy. Besides the indoor pool with massage jets, there are special relaxation pools where you can enjoy the hot water on bubble loungers. There is also an outdoor pool, a whirlpool, and additional wellness offerings like massages or moor packs meant to create a fresh complexion.

The area in the Allgäu foothills has even more to offer. For instance, the famous Baroque staircase in Wurzach Castle with its curved staircase and the antique sky of gods as a ceiling fresco, or the neoclassical parish church of St. Verena and the baroque pilgrimage church on the Gottesberg. All these sights are part of the Upper Swabian Baroque Route.

Nestled between meadows and groves, there are many trails for scenic hikes and cycling tours.

In the heart of the Bavarian Alps, surrounded by crystal-clear lakes, rushing streams, shady forests, picturesque valleys, and imposing peaks, lies Schloss Elmau. You will find this wellness hotel in the ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located in Bavaria between the Zugspitze and the Karwendel mountains.

After a hiking tour or a tour on the ski slopes in the mountainous world around the area, families and those seeking peace can relax in the award-winning wellness hotel. The castle is divided into two hotels, each offering its own wellness area. In one facility, children can have fun, while in the other, only adults can relax.

There are a total of five large outdoor pools and a nature spa by the stream with a sauna and massages, accessible only during the warm season. Additionally, treatments, daily activity programs, Qigong, and guided hikes are offered. Seven restaurants provide a variety of eating options. The À-la-carte restaurant IKIGAI, formerly Luce d'Oro, is particularly exquisite and has been awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide.

5. North Sea: Wellness in the Idyllic Harbor Town of Wyk on Föhr

The roaring North Sea, fresh sea air, miles of sandy beaches, and the vast mudflats-the landscape on Föhr already sounds like wellness. In the idyllic harbor town of Wyk, at the white South Beach overlooking the North Sea, is the Upstalsboom Wellness Resort Südstrand. From some rooms, you have a unique view of the mudflats reaching far into the Halligen.

After a beach walk past the Ölhörn lighthouse and over the central bridge, you can relax in one of the 144 hotel rooms or one of the 23 residences. Additional relaxation is, of course, available in the 2000-square-meter wellness area. It features four different saunas, a steam bath, and an extensive sports and applications area over two floors.

There are also indoor and outdoor pools. Highlights include the two Finnish saunas with a large panoramic window and an unrestricted view of the rugged North Sea. This view is also available at all the resort's dining outlets, including on the outdoor terrace.

Only about 50 kilometers from Munich is the idyllic Tegernsee. The Alpine region is perfect for countless leisure activities, but especially for hiking in nature. After all, there are 300 kilometers of hiking trails. One of the most popular is the Wallberg in Rottach-Egern. From the mountain summit, you can enjoy views of the beautiful valley.

But also Das Tegernsee offers a breathtaking view of Lake Tegernsee and the Bavarian Alps. The luxury hotel has a 2400-square-meter spa with indoor and outdoor pools as well as a sun terrace. A panoramic sauna and the gym offer direct views over Lake Tegernsee and the foothills of the Alps. Alternatively, you can relax in the steam bath or dine in one of the two restaurants with views of the lake.

7. Enjoy Wellness in Schönwald in the Black Forest

The Black Forest is considered one of Germany's most popular destinations all year round. Between fir forests, mountain lakes, and meadows, you can golf, hike, bike, ski, or snowboard. Idyllically situated on a high plateau is the town of Schönwald.

When exploring the area, you'll discover beautiful Black Forest houses and continually enjoy a wonderful view of the landscape. A trip to Blindensee, a moor lake located in a high moorland and accessible via a wooden boardwalk, is popular.

For relaxation during your active vacation, visit the four-star Hotel Ochsen. After an adventurous day in the fresh Black Forest air, the wellness area invites you to unwind. The hotel features a Finnish sauna, steam bath, tepidarium, infrared cabin, swimming pool, and offers various beauty treatments. The 2000-square-meter garden area promises further relaxation.

8. Wellness Vacation in the Sauerland

Gentle mountains, dense forests, valleys with bubbling streams, and quiet lakes: the Sauerland has these to offer. At the same time, small half-timbered villages with many attractions and good Sauerland cuisine in Schmallenberg invite visitors to drop in. Nearby, hikers can explore the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park.

Nestled in this low mountain range scenery is the Romantic & Wellness Hotel Deimann. From the only five-star hotel in the Sauerland, you can access a well-signposted network of hiking trails between the long-distance trails 'Sauerland Höhenflug' and 'Rothaarsteig'. If you'd rather golf with a panoramic view on a mountain plateau, you can do so on a 27-hole golf course.

Relaxation is promised by the hotel's 4700-square-meter bathing and spa area. It includes three swimming pools, six saunas, including a panoramic sauna, a salt saline, and a relaxation tunnel for rest. Additionally, panoramic windows in many areas offer views of the impressive landscape. A naturopathy practice, fitness, and sports area, indoor golf, table tennis, billiards, and a health practice complete the offerings.

9. Wellness Trip to Lake Senftenberg in Brandenburg

In southern Brandenburg, not far from the Saxon border, you'll find the pretty town of Senftenberg. The medieval town center is charming with a beautiful marketplace and a handsome Saxon postal milestone from 1731, set up to measure distance to the former Electorate of Saxony. But the highlight is Lake Senftenberg. It is the center of a popular recreational area where you can swim, stroll, and ride your e-bike.

Almost right by the lake is the Wellnesshotel Seeschlösschen. The hotel also offers several relaxation hotspots. An idyllic wellness garden with winding paths, springs, bridges, and ponds integrates into the expansive spa. There are an outdoor pool and swimming pond, a Turkish hammam, and a fireplace-heated earth sauna. In a four-story pavilion with Indian treatment rooms, medical practices, and a yoga area, numerous beauty treatments ranging from massages to detox cures await you.

10. Wellness in the Harz: Landhaus 'Zu den Rothen Forellen'

Impressive spruce and deciduous forests, narrow riverbeds with thick boulders, rugged rocks, and cliffs-this is the beauty of the Harz National Park. In the midst of this romantic landscape in the Eastern Harz is Ilsenburg, in Saxony-Anhalt. From there, you can go on a hike to the Brocken. The charming town of Wernigerode or the city of Quedlinburg, which has been on the Unesco World Heritage list since 1994, is also just a short drive away.

After a successful hike to the Brocken, you can relax at the Landhaus 'Zu den Rothen Forellen'. The hotel offers a bathing and sauna landscape with a swimming pool, whirlpool, steam bath, Finnish sauna, and bio sauna. You also often have a great view over the trout lake.

The so-called 'Forellen-Spa' also offers hot stone massages or herbal stamp massages with Harz herbs.
