The elongated beach of Timmendorfer Strand surely has a small, quiet spot for every visitor. Before stepping onto the warm sand, don't forget: pay the tourist tax if it wasn't included in your hotel booking.

If the beach is too windy for you, you can spend your day in the peaceful, partly shaded Kurpark of Timmendorfer Strand. Bright flowers, old large trees, and lots of greenery make the Kurpark a great place for a picnic or a short break from numerous new impressions. Completely relaxing!

3. Discover Underwater World at Sea Life

This is the closest you can get to these creatures: Approximately 2,500 underwater animals from various regions of the world can be admired at Sea Life in Timmendorfer Strand. More than 38 tanks house sharks, rays, sea turtles, jellyfish, seahorses, and many more. Additionally, you can experience annually changing themed worlds; this year, it's the 'Realm of Crabs' in Timmendorfer Strand.

The glass rotunda in the Kurpark of Timmendorfer Strand is just a few meters from the beach. Performance artist Anja Es exhibits her artworks here. You don't have to pay here; admission is free. Only for special events should you be early enough to get tickets.

5. Niendorf Fishing Harbor

It's almost like the old fishing days. You'll see small, colorful fishing boats in the idyllic harbor of Niendorf, a part of Timmendorfer Strand. Fishermen head out to sea at dawn and sell their catch at small, charming fish stalls by the harbor. A small kiosk for snacks and cool drinks is also there.

You probably know Janosch's Tiger Duck. But have you ever seen a Giraffe Goose? There's one right on the promenade of Timmendorfer Strand. Artist Sven Backstein crafted it from concrete. It's been there since 2011. Maybe a bit quirky, but it looks funny.

7. Udo Lindenberg Monument

Not far from the pier at Timmendorfer Strand, you can admire a rock star who has been among the regular visitors to the small Baltic Sea town for years. Udo Lindenberg, the famous 'panic rocker', is immortalized here in a monument.

At Timmendorfer Strand, Udo Lindenberg not only prepares for his tours, but also wrote the lyrics to his famous song 'Horizont' from the 1980s. With a bit of luck, you might personally meet the music star in Timmendorfer Strand.

8. 'Old Town Hall' in Timmendorfer Strand

It looks much older than it actually is. The town hall at Timmendorfer Platz in Timmendorfer Strand was inaugurated in 1999. The present building is a replica of 1896 when Laura Caroline Beit donated the house as a 'Recreation Home for Weak and Indigent Children' to the community.

Afterwards, it became a school camp, used for hospital purposes during World War II, and after the war, it became the town hall of Timmendorfer Strand. Today, it houses the tourism organization in the town.

One of the largest Buddha collections in Germany can be admired in Timmendorfer Strand. You can admire them in all sizes and forms. Besides the Seeschlösschen Hotel, they stand in the Mikado Garden. Former HSV board member Jürgen Hunke, who owns not a modest home in Timmendorfer Strand, is the owner of the collection.

You've never seen a nose this big. On the promenade stands the 'Nose in the Wind', which spins with the wind. It stands on a small platform from which you can enjoy a great view of the sea.
