A barge trip is a must in the Spreewald-and you can even enjoy it with a relaxation effect: In Burg, the Barge of the Senses sets off. It is equipped with comfortable cushions for lounging.

The bargeman will pole you around the channels near Burg for at least an hour while you gaze up at the treetops with a wellness drink in hand or close your eyes and listen to the babbling of the Spree and the sounds of the forest.

Of course, the wellness area also features Spreewald specialties-such as quark and linseed wraps or Spreewald honey packs. There's even an exclusive spa area just for women with a separate steam bath and saunas.

Numerous spacious relaxation areas provide the ideal place to unwind and get lost in your favorite current book. And when you get hungry after relaxing, the wellness hotel offers several restaurants to choose from, including the Michelin-starred 17fuffzig.

In addition to classics like bio, steam, and aroma saunas, there are also cucumber and hay saunas. You can enjoy exciting infusions in the legend sauna and the Spreewald sauna stall, among others.

Between sauna sessions, you can leisurely stroll through the small village, linger in front of the huts, and enjoy the tranquility. Alongside the rich sauna offerings, there is also an extensive wellness area in the Spreewelten, where you can book various massages as well as Hammam ceremonies and treatments.

The Spreewald itself is the perfect place to relax. Away from the towns and heavily trafficked Spree channels, there are many opportunities to paddle into the tranquility. Surrounded by lush greenery, you can unwind and enjoy nature.

Beautiful routes for relaxation can be found on the small channels between Lehde and Leipe, around Neu- and Alt-Zauche, in Burg-Kolonie, and off the main channels near Burg and Schlepzig. Here you can plan your paddle route.

5. Salt Grotto in Lübbenau

In the heart of the Spreewald town of Lübbenau, you can visit a salt grotto, reminiscent of those found in the Alps. This space for relaxation and unwinding, with walls, ceilings, and floors made from different salts, was modeled after a natural grotto in the Berchtesgadener Land.

In this special tranquility and air, you can simply unplug and relax for 45 minutes away from the noise. Every Friday evening, the grotto also hosts cultural events such as readings and concerts by regional artists in its wonderful atmosphere.
