Your perfect weekend begins as you board the ferry to Amrum. You've left your city clothes behind and brought comfortable, warm, and waterproof clothing. Grab a snack from the ferry's concession or sit on the deck and enjoy the wonderfully fresh air.

During the approximately two-hour journey across the North Sea, you can start to tune into what lies ahead: a weekend full of tranquility, relaxation, and endless space.

Lodging

Arriving at the port in Wittdün, you can rent a bicycle for the weekend (you can find bike rentals here). Alternatively, take the bus or a taxi to your accommodation. You can stay economically at Camping Amrum or at Honigparadies School Hostel in Nebel.

For a more upscale stay, the island's numerous guesthouses and hotels offer a higher standard, and you can find them in the host directory or various booking sites online.

Once you've unloaded your belongings at your accommodation, you can take a bike ride to get a first impression of the island. Or take a leisurely stroll through your village, visit some attractions (we've picked out the best for you here!), and walk down to the mudflats.

From there, enjoy views of the neighboring island of Föhr, the mainland, and the Hallig Langeneß. Let the vastness take over and enjoy the North Sea breeze.

Evening Activities

With so much fresh air making you hungry, enjoy a good meal at one of the many restaurants in the evening. Find great restaurant tips here.

If you're up for something special afterward, you can join a night walk organized by the Wadden Sea Conservation Station.
