Cruise Ship Encyclopedia: AIDAprima

The AIDAprima is the flagship of the Rostock-based cruise line AIDA Cruises and, at present, the largest German cruise ship. It impresses with several innovations such as the Lanaideck, which surrounds the entire ship. Thus, the side outdoor decks are lively with gastronomy and chill-out zones. A special hot spot: the beach club on deck 14 under a UV-transparent canopy. In the evenings, party-goers meet here to celebrate, as the parties with DJs are more successful than those with the traditional on-board bands. The AIDAprima sails year-round from Hamburg, even in winter. However, it does not call at particularly attractive ports like Le Havre, Southampton, Zeebrugge, and Rotterdam. In 2017, the AIDAperla, the second and last ship from the Mitsubishi shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan, was launched. It sails the Mediterranean year-round from Palma de Mallorca.
