Breakfast for Avocado Fans at Figar
Avocados have found their way into... well, just about everything. Whether earrings and shirts featuring the fruit are necessary is up to the wearer. But it tastes great on bread for almost everyone. The Figar has several locations in Vienna. Their cafes offer trendy organic bread with avocado and poached egg, topped with hollandaise sauce.
The bread from Joseph is already delicious on its own. The variety of toppings is substantial, and you can feel like a real hipster in the store. If you're in Vienna over the weekend, be sure to reserve a table just in case.
Superfood Deli for the Banana Soul
The name says it all: At Superfood Deli on the shopping avenue Mariahilfer Straße, you can find superfoods-everything healthy, or at least giving the impression of being so. The superfood bowls are all banana-based, which is how they achieve that creamy texture. Something you might enjoy when you stop by.
They also offer soups and other small items, but nothing is more Instagram-worthy than a mason jar with colorful mush, colored with algae for instance, and neatly decorated toppings. Treat yourself to a turmeric latte in yellow or a unicorn drink in blue. Organic is almost a given.
Superfood Deli | Address: Mariahilfer Straße 45/17-19, Raimundhof, 1060 Vienna | Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, closed on Sunday

Superfood DeliMiznon: Tel Aviv for Viennese
Miznon is a chain, as it comprises several locations-the main one is in Tel Aviv, another is in Paris, and a few months ago, one opened in Vienna. Just behind St. Stephen's Cathedral lies the small self-service eatery.
They offer stuffed pitas with meat and vegetables and, particularly recommended, a whole roasted cauliflower. Known as "Karfiol" in Vienna, it's simply seasoned with coarse salt and baked in the oven. Don't miss the sauces and pita scraps available near the entrance area.
Miznon | Address: Schulerstraße 4, 1010 Vienna | Hours: Monday to Saturday from 12 PM to 10:30 PM, Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM

MiznonFood for Moviegoers: Ludwig and Adele
Do you have a bit more time and enjoy going to the movies in Vienna? Then check out Ludwig and Adele at the Künstlerhaus on Karlsplatz or their second location at the ever-popular Yppenplatz.
But only at Karlsplatz is there an attached cinema. First, choose something from the daily specials or the regular menu, then settle into your seat.
The chestnut tiramisu, an elegant take on the classic Italian dessert with chestnuts, is chic and delicious. The venue is stylishly cool, always with fresh flowers on the tables.
Ludwig and Adele at Karlsplatz | Address: Akademiestraße 13, 1010 Vienna | Hours: Daily from 12 PM to 12 AM

Ludwig and AdeleMeissl und Schadn for Schnitzel Lovers
There are plenty of schnitzels in Vienna, no surprise there. Really good schnitzels are also plentiful in Vienna. But at Meissl und Schadn on the Wiener Ringstraße, they get fancy. The restaurant is part of the pretty swanky Grand Ferdinand Hotel. Even if you can't afford to stay the night, you can indulge in the schnitzel.
The place becomes interesting thanks to the chefs who pound and bread the schnitzels in the window display. You also have the choice of what to fry it in-butter, pork fat, or vegetable oil.
As Viennese as schnitzel is the Tafelspitz, which, along with other meats, including tongue, is served from the cart. It's quite an experience.
Meissl und Schadn | Address: Schubertring 10-12, 1010 Vienna | Hours: Daily from 12 PM to 1 AM

Meissl und SchadnA Secret for Planners: The Hold
The Hold is probably one of the smallest venues in Vienna. A reservation is therefore highly recommended. The menu changes weekly, showing a tendency towards Italian dishes, always modern, tasteful, and delicious. The kitchen is tiny due to the shop's size, but the quality is enormous.
Overhead, empty bottles hang as chandeliers. It evokes a bistro feel, but you'll want to linger longer.
Hold | Address: Josefstädter Straße 50, 1080 Vienna | Hours: Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 2 AM, closed on Saturday and Sunday | Phone: +4314051198

The HoldIt's All About the Meat Baby
If the name doesn't scream urbanity and hipsterness, then nothing does: It's All About the Meat Baby is a burger joint. And not an ordinary one. They offer gourmet burgers, like one with cheddar cheese smoked over applewood.
Burgers have always been and still are visually appealing. A bonus: you can enjoy your burger on the Badeschiff during summer; the place has set down roots near the main uni on Währinger Straße in an Irish pub. Loud music and dim lighting enhance the flavor.
It's All About the Meat Baby | Address: Währinger Straße 3, 1090 Vienna | Hours: Monday to Friday from 5 PM to 11 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 11 PM

It's All About the Meat BabyRa'Mien - Post Pho on Instagram
Haven't posted a pho on Instagram yet? It's time! On Gumpendorfer Straße, a parallel street to Mariahilfer, there are several spots offering Vietnamese soup.
A classic is Ra'Mien, a fairly sterile looking spot that almost resembles a cafeteria but knows its soups. Super fresh ingredients and superbly fine arrangements of the dishes-winter will find you warm here.
Ra'Mien | Address: Gumpendorfer Straße 9, 1060 Vienna | Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 12 AM, closed on Mondays

Ra'MienEs gibt Reis offers more than just rice
Here, the name only partially fits-and it's an understatement, even if Helge Schneider peaks around the corner: At Es gibt Reis there's more than rice-specifically, food inspired by fresh, Asian street food.
But not trite-consider their lamb liver with a sort of curry as an example. You should enjoy spicy food, and also taking photos. And since the bar menu is as exciting as the food, you should linger a bit to enjoy it.
Es gibt Reis | Address: Piaristengasse 15, 1080 Vienna | Hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 5 PM to 11 PM, Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to 12 AM, closed on Sunday and Monday

Es gibt ReisMiranda Bar for a good nightcap
"Lemme at it, because she wants to"-a silly phrase, good place. The Miranda Bar offers carefully selected drinks. After all that food, they are the perfect nice nightcap. Thought you knew your cocktails because you know what an Aviation is? You might learn something here. They even have a rotating specials menu. Expect to spend a tenner-it's worth it, not just for showing off on Instagram.
