If you're thrilled by water and a good dose of adrenaline, you can combine both on these water slides. The world's ten tallest water slides offer a thrilling experience for fearless sliders with a lot of speed.

Plummet in what feels like free fall or zoom through colorful tubes: On these slides, you'll be sure to get soaked. Though Brazil and the USA lead in slide gigantism, you can also find one of the tallest water slides in a popular vacation spot in Europe.

1. The 'Kilimanjaro' Slide in Brazil

This water slide in Brazil is named after Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, and sends sliders into the water at a rapid pace from a height of 49.9 meters. According to Statista, this one, located in Aldeia das Águas Park Resort near the city of Barra do Piraí, is the highest water slide in the world.

Climbing up to the slide is akin to a mountaineering adventure, and the descent occurs at a 60-degree angle, allowing sliders to reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour. From a specially constructed wooden bridge, you can witness the spectacle without getting wet.

2. The 'Hurricane Tower' in China

China also loves going big with water slides. In 2016, the 88°C Hot Spring Park in Xianyang opened, featuring the 'Hurricane Tower,' currently regarded as the world's second-largest slide. The thrilling ride begins at a height of 45 meters.

Once on the slide, adrenaline junkies are propelled through the tube slide into the cool water, covering a distance of 160 meters. To experience the slide fun on this structure, a minimum height of 150 centimeters is required.

3. 'The Rise of Icarus' in Wisconsin Dells, USA

The summer of 2024 marked the grand opening of 'The Rise of Icarus' at the Mt. Olympus - Water & Theme Park Resort in the small American town of Wisconsin Dells. It's a 44-meter-high slide tower featuring several water slides that start at different levels of the tower.

A tube slide begins at the pinnacle of the tower at an astonishing 44 meters high, providing an exhilarating sliding adventure. This attraction secures the slide's third-place ranking among the tallest slides in the world. Overall, the tower offers five slides to choose from: four Aquatube tube slides and one free-fall slide.

4. 'Thrillagascar' and 'Jungle Jammer' in the USA

You step into a capsule, cross your arms over your chest, and cross your feet, standing on a trapdoor. Through the glass floor beneath you, you see the water stream you're about to plunge into. After a countdown, the trapdoor opens, and you zoom downwards.

When you experience this, you're likely in one of the side-by-side slides 'Thrillagascar' and 'Jungle Jammer' at Dreamworks Water Park in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The free-fall slides start at a height of 43.3 meters, securing the fourth-place ranking among the world's tallest water slides. They are also the tallest indoor water slides in the world.

5. 'Captain Spacemaker' in Italy

Upon reaching the platform of this water slide, you can already see the Adriatic Sea on the horizon. Then it gets serious: Three to four people can take a seat in a raft that's pushed towards the abyss by a conveyor belt. Abyss, in this case, means a spectacular 60-degree incline.

After the raft tips over the edge, it can reach incredible speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. Not for the faint-hearted! The 'Captain Spacemaker' slide is located in the Caribe Bay Water Park near Venice and promises thrilling sliding fun that starts at 42 meters high. With this, the raft slide is the fifth tallest in the world and the tallest in Europe.

6. 'Daredevil's Peak' in the Bahamas

The world's sixth-tallest water slide is on the private island of Coco Cay in the Caribbean and is reserved exclusively for Royal Caribbean cruise guests. Thus, 'Daredevil's Peak' is quite an exclusive slide experience. In terms of height, it nearly matches its Italian predecessor, starting at 41.1 meters high.

Not a steep drop, but its curves are the slide's allure. In the tube slide, you zoom down colourful spirals over a distance of 233 meters at speeds of up to 96 kilometers per hour. After 35 seconds, the slide thrill ends.

7. 'Insano' in Brazil

An extreme sliding experience awaits you on the 'Insano' slide in Beach Park in Aquiraz, Brazil. It's no coincidence that the Portuguese word 'insano' translates to insane or crazy. The slide drops you from a height of 41 meters, roughly equivalent to a 14-story building.

The exciting sliding adventure is a delight for hardcore adrenaline fans, lasting around four to five seconds due to its steep descent. Practically in free fall, top speeds of up to 105 kilometers per hour are reached.

8. The 'Meteor' Slide in Brazil

Another Beach Park slide in Aquiraz makes it into the top 10. The 'Meteor' slide ranks eighth among the world's tallest water slides with a height of 40 meters.

In a steep angle, you zoom down the tube slide almost in free fall after a trapdoor opens at the start point. The slide promises not only speeds of up to 105 kilometers per hour but also a huge adrenaline rush.

9. 'Kala and Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides', Florida, USA

You'll need to climb step by step to reach the start point of the twin slide 'Kala and Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides' in Florida. The tube slides intertwine and are located at the summit of an artificial volcano in Universal Volcano Bay Park in Orlando, Florida.

Once slide fans assume the starting position in the two capsules, the trapdoor beneath them suddenly opens, and the sliding experience begins from 38.1 meters high with a fall angle of 70 percent. To experience the adrenaline-packed ride, you must weigh under 136 kilograms and be at least 122 centimeters tall.

10. 'Ko'okiri Body Plunge', Florida, USA

Same fall height, same park: The tenth-tallest slide, 'Ko'okiri Body Plunge,' is also located in Volcano Bay Orlando. With a fall angle of 70 degrees, you race down from 38.1 meters high.

First, you must climb 200 steps to reach the starting point. This sliding experience for adrenaline junkies takes place inside the artificial volcano, also housing the twin slides 'Kala and Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides'.
