Italy is a much-loved country, both by Italians but even more so by foreigners. Tourist flows speak for themselves: people and groups from all over Europe and beyond love the lakes, seas, mountains and cities of art of our Bel Paese and adore spending their holidays or even short weekends within our borders.
But which are the most popular regions in Italy? We wanted to draw up a ranking, asking as always for your opinion...
We did a sample survey, inviting 10,000 members of the community to express their preferences, based on criteria such as landscape and environmental beauty, richness of the artistic-cultural heritage, wealth of leisure and entertainment opportunities and general quality of tourist services. Finally, we combined the results of the survey with international data on the popularity index of Italian regions abroad.
