The 21 Most Beautiful Beaches in Italy - Official Ranking 2023

The mugginess and heat become unbearable and we all feel the need for a refreshing swim in the sea. After a year of hard work, we are entitled to some relaxation: it is time for some well-deserved rest. But where to spend the holiday? Don't worry, Travel365 will take care of that for you by suggesting a ranking of the best seaside resorts in the country.

We asked 100,000 members of the community to take part in a poll, expressing five preferences from a range of more than 100 beaches scattered across the Bel Paese. From the results of the poll, the ranking emerged. Here are the most beautiful beaches in Italy!

21 - Baia dei Saraceni, Finale Ligure - Liguria (12850 votes)

Driving along the road that runs along the coast between Finale Ligure and the pretty village of Vaigotti you arrive at the small bay. Fabulous colours, clear water and breathtaking rocks; you cannot help but stop. Baia dei Saraceni is really a fantastic destination, ideal for those who want to sunbathe or swim surrounded by incredible vegetation, it is among the most picturesque tourist areas in Liguria and what is more, it is completely free.

20 - Cala Violina, Scarlino - Tuscany (13040 votes)

When you get there, you immediately realise what a special place it is, a particularly suggestive cove in the Maremma Grossetana: fine white sand and transparent water. This heavenly place is one of the most loved by tourists and a source of great pride for the Tuscan region.

The beach has a limited number of visitors and can be accessed by booking online at a cost of €1.00. In summer, there is a snack bar for sandwiches and cold drinks.

A very special location that offers unique sensations to tourists. Until a few years ago, reaching it was almost a feat given the poor accessibility of the path leading up to the cliff. Today, fortunately, a'tourist miracle' has been performed and the area has been greatly enhanced. Don't miss the spectacle of the water crashing against the cliff.

This tourist resort with magnetic appeal for families and couples is located not far from Trapani airport. Centuries of Arab influence have left their mark on the local cuisine. Couscous is the main speciality and a major annual event, the Cous Cous Fest, is dedicated to it. This year it has been confirmed as one of the most beautiful and recommended beaches for families with children, receiving two of the most coveted awards for Italian beaches: the 5 sails of Legambiente and the green flag of Italian paediatricians.

17 - Scala dei Turchi, Realmonte - Sicily (13920 votes)

Scala dei Turchi Just 15 minutes from the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, the bright white rock face juts out into the sea creating a stunning backdrop. The rock is an ideal springboard for bathers.
In 2007, the municipality of Realmonte submitted a request to UNESCO to have the beach listed as a World Heritage Site.

It is also a resting place for flocks of flamingos, making it particularly popular with bird watchers.

It is located on the island of Ponza, and Cala Feola can be reached naturally by sea or by a path of about 15 minutes. A long expanse of fine grains of sand with an authentic, unspoilt nature of Mediterranean scrub behind it. The sea, needless to say, is so beautiful that it looks painted, and this year it was awarded the Green Flag for being one of Italy's child-friendly beaches according to Italian paediatricians.

9 - Tropea, Vibo Valentia - Calabria (15300 votes)

8 - Marina di Camerota, Salerno - Campania (15340 votes)

It is considered the main testimony to the immense naturalistic value of the Tyrrhenian coast. 6 - Porto Giunco (Villasimius), Cagliari - Sardinia (16380 votes)

Another characteristic is the watchtower of Spanish origin, thus composing a picture worthy of the best artist.

Here, too, there is a tower on the islet in front of the beach, which can also be reached on foot via a ford.

Recognised as one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy also in the 2019 Legambiente ranking, receiving the coveted 5 sails, this Sicilian pearl of rare beauty is among the most famous locations on the island of Favignana, the largest of the Egadi archipelago.
If you visit the island, you cannot fail to stop at this small bay: here the blue colours of the sea meet the white walls of tufa, creating an unforgettable spectacle.

3 - Cala Goloritzè (Baunei), Ogliastra - Sardinia (16830 votes)

It is located at the bottom of a ravine, in the Ogliastra area, precisely 9 kilometres from Baunei. It can be reached by boat or by land, the second solution involves crossing a 1-hour route.
Cala Goloritze is particularly famous for its 143-metre-highpinnacle, which attracts climbing enthusiasts from all over the world every year.

2 - Cala Mariolu (Baunei), Ogliastra - Sardinia (16910 votes)

Cala Mariolu, Baunei Photo by Lddcrs. We are close to the first position for what, it could not be otherwise, is a natural paradise. Already the most beautiful beach in Italy in 2016 according to Tripadvisor, it is characterised by white sand and rocks with pink pebbles.
Reaching it is quite challenging, but perhaps that is also why it has remained so pure and unspoilt. However, there is a kiosk for drinks and refreshments and a point for renting beach umbrellas and snorkelling equipment.

1 - Spiaggia dei Conigli (Lampedusa), Agrigento - Sicily (16970 votes)

It is really difficult to find the right words to describe the feelings that this precious destination manages to convey to the lucky people who visit it. Not surprisingly, it was voted the most beautiful beach in the world by TripAdvisor, beating out competition from Playa de ses Illetes or Playa Flamenco. From the photos you might mistake it for a Caribbean resort, but this Mediterranean jewel is in Italy!
