After vacation, your suitcase is usually heavier than before. Some airlines are more generous with their baggage allowance than others, even in Economy Class. With these five airlines, your suitcase can weigh a bit more.

A few souvenirs, extra clothes, and some snacks from the market can make your suitcase much heavier on vacation. Since airlines have clear limits on baggage allowance, this can quickly lead to additional costs.

Most airlines allow one free piece of luggage per passenger in Economy Class, weighing a maximum of 20 to 23 kilograms. It's different for Business Class and First Class, where you can usually bring more luggage weighing over 30 kilograms.

For instance, with Lufthansa, travelers in Economy Class can bring a 23-kilogram bag and a carry-on of up to eight kilograms for free. In the other two flight classes, two carry-ons weighing eight kilograms and two to three bags up to 32 kilograms each are allowed.

However, there are some airlines that are generous with their baggage allowance even in Economy Class on certain routes, allowing up to 30 kilograms. Here's an overview so you can pack some extra souvenirs without guilt.

For trips from Europe to Australia and New Zealand and back, 30 kilograms are allowed even with Economy Saver tickets. Travelers can check in as many bags as they want up to the weight limit of their travel class, according to the Emirates website, the national airline of the Dubai emirate.

Baggage Included? Tips Before Booking a Flight

Before booking a flight, you should definitely check if any baggage allowance is included with your selected flight. If all baggage costs extra, it is often better to book luggage in advance, as adding it at the airport can be more expensive than booking online.

For a connecting flight, be sure to check if baggage costs are calculated for the entire trip or per leg. Additionally, there can always be costs for children's baggage. Children under two usually don't need their own ticket, but extra baggage may still be charged.
