Vegan restaurants Amsterdam: the best options in town

Bazaar once again made a selection of the crème de la crème among Amsterdam's restaurants, this time all with a plant-based menu. Indeed, the best vegan restaurants in a row. Not necessarily for vegetarians or vegans by the way, because these restaurants are so good that they will make even the most fanatical carnivore hesitate. Promise. So if you are a fan of good food and a great admirer of stylish interiors, here are the best restaurants in Amsterdam serving 'neither meat nor fish'. Still nothing to your taste? You can always search for vegan options on the menus of Bazaar's previous selection of Amsterdam's best restaurants.

7x Amsterdam's best vegan restaurants

1

Mr. & Ms. Watson, Linnaeuskade

Fans of cheese who like to take a plant-based approach: Mr. & Ms. Watson is your place to be. In case the name does not mean much to you; it was allegedly Donald Watson and his wife Dorothy who introduced the term 'veganism' in 1944. You won't notice anything else, as this place serves delicious food.

2

Meatless District, Bilderdijkstraat

Honestly: most vegan restaurants that are also trendy have white walls, lots of plants and everything is made of wood and cardboard. Nothing wrong with that, but still nice to see that some vegan restaurants do things differently, without compromising on style. We are talking about Meatless District, where you eat the finest vegan dishes surrounded by warm tones.

3

Vegan Sushi Bar, Kinkerstraat

Looking for vegan sushi in Amsterdam? Then you've now found paradise: the Vegan Sushi Bar. With a regular Indian Cherry (kind of a violin flower to look at) as decoration, each sushi board is turned into a work of art. And a true taste sensation, because at this vegan sushi bar, they know what tastes good.

4

Oliver Green, Kinkerstraat & Oosterparkstraat

Oliver Green in Amsterdam is the healthy hotspot for a healthy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Two hotspots actually, because you will find this toko on both Kinkerstraat and Weesperzijde. The menu features smoothies, salads and hot and cold bowls, such as the Mighty Mushroom and the Very Bery. Oliver Green believes that eating plant-based'whole foods' without added sugars and oils is best for our bodies and the planet, and has a hip interior with 'n vibe to match.

5

The Meets, Sumatrastraat

In Amsterdam Oost you'll find The Meets, with colourful velvet chairs and an equally colourful (plant-based!) kitchen. Closed on Sundays and Mondays, but the rest of the week you can choose the finest dishes from the menu. Traditional Brazilian dishes, for example, or the homemade tortellini. Hey!

6

The Reckless, Frans Halsstraat

Whether you really have to be a daredevil to enter De Waaghals; we don't think so. After all, the dishes look great, the staff is friendly and the interior chunky. Perhaps the street name is still in there somewhere, but otherwise the name stays in the middle. It doesn't really matter; according to Tripadvisor, it is a place you will want to visit (again) soon.

7

Flower Burger, Hartenstraat

Maybe not quite the ambiance you're used to from Bazaar, but nice for those who fancy an insta-worthy hip spot. The burger buns here have the craziest colours, and most importantly: are completely vegan. Applies to the cakes, too, by the way.
