Placeways, LLC is a software and services firm specializing in interactive tools for geographic decisions. Our flagship product, CommunityViz®, is developed in partnership with the Orton Family Foundation and is widely used throughout North America and the world for scenario-based land-use planning and 3D visualization. In addition to CommunityViz software and consulting, we offer high quality professional services in community planning, 3D visualization, and custom software development.

Our software customers number several thousand users in 40 countries around the world. Our services clients include a wide variety of government agencies, professional consulting firms, research institutions, and non-profits. From our base in Boulder, Colorado we support projects all over North America. Because of our deep expertise in planning and visualization tools, we often join forces with other firms to form efficient, multi-talented consulting teams.

The mission of Placeways is to give people a new, clearer picture of their physical world and all its interrelated dimensions. The company was created in 2005 by a group of former CommunityViz employees with a deep commitment to both the values embodied in the software and to the fast-growing and exciting community of people who use it. As we grow, we find ourselves lucky to attract talented people with unusual combinations of talents that make Placeways a vibrant place full of creativity, ideas and passion.
