Progress on transit and transit-oriented development in many regions across the US — from New York, Baltimore, and Philadelphia to Chicago; Austin, Texas; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle — is included in a new report from the Center for Transit-Oriented Development, “TOD 204: Planning for TOD at the Regional Scale.” The 28-page guidebook is the sixth in a series of reports sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration explaining best practices in transit-oriented development.

The guidebook presents eight strategies for successful regional TOD planning. “People often think about TOD at the site- or station-area scale, but it is critical that we plan for TOD with the bigger picture in mind,” says Sam Zimbabwe, the Center’s director. Zimbabwe and Alia Anderson were the report’s primary authors. To download a copy, visit ctod.org.
